Welcome to My Corner of the Internet

Hello, World

Welcome to purav.ca — my personal slice of the internet. This is where I’ll share projects I’m working on, ideas I’m exploring, and things I’m learning along the way.

Why a Personal Site?

In an age of social media and platform-dependent content, having your own space on the web feels both old-school and revolutionary. A personal site is:

  • Yours: No algorithms deciding who sees what. No character limits. No ads.
  • Permanent: Platforms come and go, but a domain you own is as stable as it gets.
  • A portfolio: The best way to show what you can do is to actually do it — and this site is itself a project.

What to Expect

I plan to write about:

  • Technology: Tools, frameworks, and techniques I’m learning and using
  • Sustainability: Carbon markets, clean energy, and how tech intersects with environmental challenges
  • Building in public: Behind-the-scenes looks at projects as I develop them
  • Creative work: DJ mixes, data visualizations, and whatever else catches my interest

How This Site Was Built

This site is built with Astro, styled with Tailwind CSS, and maintained with the help of Claude Code. The entire development process — from planning to deployment — was an exercise in AI-assisted development, and I’ll write more about that experience in a future post.

The source code is on GitHub if you’re curious.
